Ok Durantonians I have a question for you. There is a set of Star or Durant Reamers for sale now on Ebay. I think Bob has bid on them. What the heck are the for? what would you Ream?

Reamers are used to bring a brass bushing to the correct size.

When you press a bushing it will become misshappened and need to run a reamer into it to bring it to the correct size.

These would be used anywhere there is a bushing on our cars. King pins are an example, wrist pins would be another.

Those reamers have a pilot on them to align two bushings so when they are reamed they will be in perfect alignment. This is especially true for king pins or wrist pins.
