Can anyone please tell me can I fit a 1923 continental star engine into my 1929 Rugby and will I need to adapt anything or does it go straight in .I am not sure if it is the same engine used for both cars, it looks the same in the picture I have.

The 23 Star engine will be a W4 engine. I believe that your Rugby is a W8 engine and they are somewhat different. However, if your Rugby is a W4 or W5 then the swap would be straightforward.
Maybe someone else has encountered this problem.

From my experience, the W4 and W5 engines are completely interchangable. You only have to use the correct chain case to match the front engine mounts. Either chain case will work on either engine.
