How many of you subscribe to the new "Hemmings Classic Car" magazine?
If you do, you should read an article in the December 2004 issue about Skip Marketti. If you dont, you need to.
For those of you that attended the 2003 DMAC Annual meeting you will remember that Skip is the curator of the Nettercut Museum, Sylmar, CA. He was also the guest speaker at our annual meeting.
Not only is the article about Skip excellent, there is a quote toward the end of the article that is most important to Durant owners: "Mr. Nettercutt has decided that it was necessary to add affordable family cars to the museum--not everyone drove V-16 Cadillacs. We wanted to show our visitors what really put America on wheels-- Ford, Chevy, Dort, Durant, Hudson........
the paragraph goes on to say
"There will be special attention given to all of the marques created by William Crapo Durant; Shik reprts that Mr. Nettercutt is facinated by Durant's rags-to-riches-to-rags-to-riches-to-rags story, calling it better than Preston Tucker's."
