I've been wondering about the reverse spinning of the dambuster bomb. Would anyone be able to offer some references so i might read about how this was accomplished? I can't envision how a spherical, much less a cylindrical bomb could be dropped while spinning away from the direction of air travel without (1) substantial loss of angular momentum or (2) reduction in travel speed or (3) instability along the axis of spin? Many thanks in advance.
