On D Day the ORB lists 12 - 14 man crews.
Does anyone know what the extra crew members did?
They would not have needed this many extra just to throw chaff.
Was 617 doing other counter-intelligence roles? Radio broadcasts etc?

It would be most interesting to learn more about this memorable mission.
(History.ca ran an interesting documentary on DDay today, with a good little segment on 617's role... or is it still an official secret?)
