I was asked the other day why the dams bomb came to be known as Upkeep, but the answer was I simply don't know, and I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I believe Barnes Wallis named his bombs but I can't be sure. Anyone know the answer?

Thanks Dave, it's a great site, but it doesn't tell me where the name Upkeep originated, or who gave it that name. Tallboy and Grand Slam I can certainly understand by their appearance, but Upkeep?
