Drum Major Grenville Hall QOH

This a long shot, and I don't really hold out much success. I am trying to get any information on Drum Major Grenville Hall, who was based at the Army Apprentices School, Harrogate N Yorkshire during the period I was there - 1961-64. I had great respect for that man, and he taught me a lot, some of the advice he gave me I still use today, 47 years later. "Drummy" hailed from Keighley in Yorkshire, and I would like to get any information possible about him. He was a good man.

Re: Drum Major Grenville Hall QOH

Hi, D/M "Nobby" Hall I believe passed away some years ago. From what I remember he was originally a Cameron Highlander (Mil Band)and transferred to the Gordon Highlanders to take over as D/M. As he was D/M and Iwas only a young drummer in the QOHldrs at the time I did not know him well.

Hope this helps!

Hi Phil,

Try the Queen's Own Highlanders museum website as they could probably help. Or try the regiment's Facebook group.
