Old silver Eyeglasses;maker

I recently acquired a pair of very old eyeglass frames (the lenses are gone). They are marked in Capitals; McALLISTER PHILD on one side and have an eight pointed star with a small circle in the center on the inside of the other side of the frames. They have slides that extend the length of the frames and holes on each end for ribbon so they can be worn around the neck.I cannot find this maker in any of my books on silversmiths. I would appreciate any info such as era of the silversmith;obviously he is in PHILD.Are these Rare?

Your frames were manufactured by McAllister & Co. 1842-1860 of Philadelphia.
