You may be able to find something here: Old Copper
Your sticks were made by a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths. SNAG If you send me an image I might be able to help you identify the maker. To my knowledge there is no log of members and their marks though it might be worth your while to contact the SNAG Organization. I look forward to seeing your candle sticks. I suspect your sticks were made after 1970.
Without seeing your candle sticks I am going to guess these are the work of Thomas Markusen. He has a model 108 candlestick and the other numbers are the edition 48 of 100 made during this phase of design. The images you send will confirm this since his work is easily identifiable.
Wow! Thanks for all the support! I will shoot and send pix soon! I'm feeling a little under the weather at the moment, so give me a day or two.
I certainly appreciate these responses and the advice.
Here are the links to view the photos of the candlesticks and their details (as best I could get them...)
What do you think?
I was able to cut and paste the links from this post to your images. These are in fact by Thomas Markusen. The mark is TM and no RM. Visit his website and you will see a great deal more of the work of this talented and prolific metalsmith. Thomas is one of the long time members of this Society of American Silversmiths.
You and your organization are great! I'll go to his site now. I assume it's his name. If not, let me know. Many thanks!!!!
You were dead-on bulls eye right. Thank you so much for helping me! I like to know as much about the artists as their creations.
