I have recently purchased a silver plating machine with the intent of removing the silver from silver plate. I have a source of junk silver plate at a very reasonable price. Until now I have been doing it the hard way (dissolve with nitric acid and precipitate with copper) I would like to be able to reverse the polarity on the plating machine and strip the silver. The problem is that it has been almost 50 years since I got my degree as a metallurgical engineer and never worked with any electrorefining or deposition. I need help with amperages, anodes and cathodes and a non-cyanide bath.
