I have 6 place settings of what I am told is silverplate. The knife has a mark at the top 1857 over what appears to be a world globe held by at fork, knife and spoon, to one side is A.S. and the other side Co. Under this is World Brand, and under this the number 16. The pattern appears to be Water lilies. On the top is a large flower, under and to the left is a smaller flower, to the right three buds all hanging down. The pattern continues on down the handle and at the base another flower.
Your place settings were manufactured by the American Silver Company in Bristol, Connecticut. I cannot give you a pattern name without images. If you can email me images, I will be glad to research it for you.
