I've read that "Standard" silver plated flatware is
made using 2 Troy ounces of pure silver , to plate
144 tea spoons . If I have 144 of these teaspoons , in
"mint" condition , can I expect to be able to recover
2 Troy ounces of pure silver from them in a refining
process ? If a Troy ounce of pure silver is valued at
$5 to $6 dollars ... does this effort work out to be valued at ten to twelve dollars ? If I have just one
teaspoon , does it contain ( 1 / 144th ) of 2 Troy ounces of pure silver ?
