sterling marker of numbers

I have a very plain five piece sterling silver tea set. On the bottom of each piece is "sterling" and immediately below is the number 0350. The word sterling is printed very precisely, while the numbers appear to have been printed individually, as they are not exactly even nor are they identical on each piece. I bought it in 1962 and was told by the dealer it was approximately 85 years old. Anyone have any ideas about where it might have been made or by whom? Thanks.

Re: sterling marker of numbers

The numbers are probably inventory numbers and are impossible to connect with a manufacturer. An image might help.

Thank, Fred, for the info. If I can get a picture and figure out how to post, I will do so. Not very computer savvy!!!
