Your idea sounds like it should eliminate tarnish.. An airtight nitrogen environment should prevent sulfides from attacking the silver and create the sulphide tarnish. You might want to be aware of components of any adhesives that may be in use during construction of your airtight glass box. Any suphide/sulphate compounds may outgas and tarnish your ship.
