WAB mark on art deco silver compact

I have a compact that belonged to an aunt that has a mark of WAB. I have seen the compact twice online, but they have been marked "Tiffany & Co. Sterling & 14K." Mine is marked "WAB Sterling & 14K." The compacts are identical except the Tiffany-marked ones have 3 rubies, where mine has 3 sapphires. I have been unable to find out who WAB is. The initials are stamped so that the last line of the W is the first line of the A, and the last line of the A is the first line of the B - they look all connected to each other. I believe the compact is from the 1930s or 1940s. Would appreciate any information on the WAB mark. Thanks, Kathie
