setting up jewelry studio

I'm setting up a studio in my home - the first of my own. I work primarily with silver and have used an oxyacetylene based tank/soldering system before. Is this the best system? I may want the flexibility to work with other metals and want to be as safe as possible.

Re: setting up jewelry studio

The oxyacetylene system is perfectly safe as long as you use the standard practices of using it. Make sure your tanks are secured so they do not fall. Check tanks, gauges, hoses, handles and tips for leaks. Avoid using fluxes with fluorides and solders with cadmium. Books and pamphlets are available that talk about studio safety.
