When we go to the beach, we pick up plastic bags, bottles, in other words, garbage that is strewn around. My husband and father go sailing or kayaking and they always spend some time bringing back the floating garbage they find in the sea. Most of this comes from stuff tossed out of commercial inter island ships. We should always do what we can, where we are, with what we have.

Mark your calendars for the 3rd Saturday of September every year cause this is a good day to clean up the beach! It's International Coastal Cleanup Day! Just picking up the trash and all the yucchy stuff that finds its way into our coastal areas makes us more aware of the need to minimize our garbage. Try not to use plastic bags and styrofoam because they really make a whole mess out of our beaches!
