? Computer Problems ?

I have a lap top at home and a desk top at work. The desk top has no problems I know of but the lap top has plenty. At work the desk top has everything in real time, aol is correct and posting here is on time. When I get home and use the lap top aol is 12-24 hours out of sync and the posts here are way behind time(assemetrically strengthened has 11 posts at home, but at work it has 21). Anyone experienced this and what is the cure?? Thanks for the help but this won't be readable for me until tomorrow.

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

Have you tried the refresh button?

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

Do you mean spray on deodorant? How's that gonna help the computer? To call me computer illiterate is a compliment. Where is the refresh button??

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

What a refreshing idea

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

Ahh for that refreshed page.
There are several ways to refresh a web page, the simplist is to press the F5 button while on the web.
Another, there are two green arrows next to the address window at the top of the screen.
The refresh function updates the web page. sometimes if you post and look fopr the post it is not thyere, refresh and will appear.

Hope this helps.

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

Tried refresh, no good. Usually I go into the control panel and delete temp files cookies and passwords and it corrects the screen but dosen't last long. Thanks for the help.

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

What browser are you using?

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

OG how old is the lap top.
There is an internal battery on the mother board that may need to be changed.

Or right click on the time(lower right), go to adjust date and time, go to time zone tab make sure you have the correct time zone selected, go to internet tab make sure "automatically synchronize....." is checked off, go to drop down window and select "time.nist.gov" click update now, click apply click okay.

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

The PC time won't inhibit content on a web site from displaying.

Re: ? Computer Problems ?

Try this- Click on Internet options on the Tools Menu at the top of the screen. Then choose the General tab and go to the Temporary Internet Files section. Choose the Settings button and where it says"Check for newer versions of stored pages" make sure the button that says "Automaticaly" is selected. Click "OK" to close that box, then click "Apply" in the main box and then OK again to close the properties tab. Shut down IE Explorer & restart it and it should work.
