Edited Template but now I can't insert links...

I edited the template and posted it as a JPEG. I thought there was a way to create a "Hot Spot" as a front layer that I could program a link to? How do I create links to the buttons on the JPEG?

You can create hot links with a program like Dreamweaver. You can also code them with HTML.

You edit html templates with a WSYIWIG/Html
or text/html editors like NVU,Alleycode,Html-kit
or notepad usually.

You add your links using plain html codes.
You add your separate images using html.
You save your page as .html file
not a image file.
You then upload all your images files
plus all html files
to your site.

If you using a photo shop psd webpage
template you need to use photo shop
image map tool to add your links.
