Meta Tag

I've created an account at GOOGLE WEB MASTER TOOLS.
To verify it.. it tells me to paste a certain meta tag..
My question it where exactly should I paste it?

I just went through that, on your index page paste it just under the title of the site in the section.

make that the head section surrounded by the greater than and less than signs
