How can I copy and paste code so it works?

Hello;I have been trying to add affilate links to my site pages but when I copy and paste the code, upload the page and look, all I see is the code.
The image and all does not appear, what am I doing wrong? Can someone please tell me how to make it work?Thanks to all & God Bless,

if you are using bravenet's editors to edit your site or something else

then go to the copy/paste html code forum and read the posts with the word STICKY next to them

they tell you nice and clear how to place code in
