Bravenet wont recognize index

10 days ago, using Bravenet's ftp I erased my wife’s home business and all our personal images from her laptop, in the process of simply building a site for my son. Yes I am a novice and at it again with the same problem only more weary.
---Can someone suggest in plain novice English how to get Bravenet to recognize the index page?

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

are you using frames or anything

looks like you have free hosting with your domain since you have teh bravenet ads/banners on your site with your domain

but the page is blank white and that is your index.html page that comes up with evanland.com

sometimes the problem is with frames not being supported or something else

but what are you even using to make your page

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

No frames. Using Dreamweaver cs3. The index.html is there! Cannot figure out why Bravenet cannot see it?
Just about ready for a razor blade and sinkful of warm water...

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

looks like only a blank page for "index.html".

as a test, try creating just a small fast simple page, save it as "index.html" then upload it.

also, any errors appearing during upload?

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

Yes I have tried creating a new index.html page to no avail.
Using Bravenet has caused me personal and financial loss.
I did experiece any these problems using Go Daddy.

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

you have to be doing something wrong here with dreamweaver you are using perhaps

still only see a blank white page with the bravenet banners

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

Not sure what?
The site is installed on Bravenet in the same way I have another installed on Go Daddy.
Just that Go Daddy works and Bravenet does not.

Re: Bravenet wont recognize index

There are several possible explanations:

(1) You are uploading a file with a file name other than "index.html"

(2) You are uploading the file to a location other than where we're looking

(3) You are encountering errors when you try to do the upload

I checked the headers for http://www.evanland.com/index.html , and I see:

Does that date & time (remember, it's GMT) ring a bell?
