uploading to my website

As promised here are the steps taken by me. I started from scratch and tried to create a completely new program. Still got the same results
----------------------
THE SITE IS CONSTRUCTED IN DREAMWEAVER

(1)SITE NAME
SuenJack
(2)LOCAL ROOT FOLDER
C:Documents and SettingsuserMy DocumentsSuenJack
(3)I DO NOT WANT TO USE A SERVER TECHNOLOGY
(4)WHERE ON YOUR COMPUTER DO YOU WANT TO STORE YOUR FILES
C:Documents and SettingsuserMy DocumentsSuenJack
(5)HOW DO YOU CONNECT TO YOUR REMOTE SERVER
ftp
At this point I created a home page
(6)THIS PAGE WAS GIVEN A FILE NAME OF:
Index.html
(7)WHAT IS THE HOST NAME OR FTP ADDRESS OF YOUR WEB SERVER
ftp9.bravehost.com
(8)WHAT FOLDER ON THE SERVER DO YOU WANT TO STORE YOUR FILES IN
/ (this was issued to me by the bravenet support team)
(10)WHAT IS YOUR FTP LOGIN
Suenjack-4045366419 (this was issued to me by the bravenet support team)
(11)WHAT IS YOUR FTP PASSWORD
Xxxxxx
(12)NO, DO NOT ENABLE CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
(13)INCLUDE DEPENDENT FILES
Yes
(14)HIT KEY TO UPLOAD CREATED FILES
------------------------------------------------------
This is where I get the message
“An FTP error occurred-cannot put index.html. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.”
(for some reason the ftp site is not picking up the index.html file that Dreamweaver seemingly has created)

Re: uploading to my website

You may just want to copy and paste your files into the page. I do that alot just so I don't have to use the upload feature. Also benificial if you are on dialup.

Just create the files on your manage website page, open that page and past the code off your computer onto the site.

Re: uploading to my website

Thank you SueC
I'm new to this where can i find "manage web site"

Re: uploading to my website

go to bravenet.com and at the top it askes for your user name and password
after you log in, go to websites and then click on the one you want to manage

it will take you to the file manager page open that and add your pages there.

If you have Yahoo, contact me as nightmare1158 on yahoo messenger, and I will help you go through it.
