Re: Help

your site is up all you have to do is make your index.html page to replace the placeholder page that is there

if you are referring to your site Suenjack.com

how you make your site is up to you

do you have dreamweaver, frontpage or some editor of your own and can design your site that way

or you design it with bravenet's editors

Re: Help

Suzy
Thank you
I have all of what you mentioned.
I also have a root directory and a index.html file
and I see a prompt that the file doesn't exist or I'm being denied permission.
I've been using Dreamweaver and I'm thinking about using the service supplied by Bravenet.
Thanks for your interest
Jack Cole

Re: Help

well you may have a index.html but not where it is supposed to be

dreamweaver probably saves thing in an index_files folder and when you publish using dreamweaver it probably uploaded your files that way into a file folder called index_files or something

so check your file manager area and make sure what is in your root directory and more

you can have subdirectories in your root area but your main index.html page has to be in the root directory alone it can't be

suenjack.com/index_files/index.html or something like that

it is recognized as suenjack.com/index.html

Re: Help

Jack,

Have you made a webpage yet? Where are you making your page? What are you doing when you receive an error message? What is the exact error message?

Re: Help

Courtnie
Thank you for answering. Answers to your questions:
Yes, my website is SuenJack.com.It says "Website under construction. I'm using Dreamweaver. After I get so far and PUT It askes if I should include dependent files,(yes). A box comes up with the message, "An FTP error occurred--cannot put index.html. Access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a permission problem.

Thanks

Re: Help

Jack,

First I would double check your FTP information in Dreamweaver to make sure it matches what is shown on the FTP tab.

You could also upload your files via the bravenet ftp java applet.

Re: Help

Suzy
Thanks so much I see you out there trying to give support and help to everyone. I know just how much it is appreciated.
My root folder is JuenJack.com and the folder not being accepted is SuenJack.comindex.html

Re: Help

"My root folder is JuenJack.com and the folder not being accepted is SuenJack.comindex.html"

I am confused, is that a typo? Because those are two different websites....

Re: Help

Yes it's a typo
Shame on me for not double checking my entries
SUENJACK.com

Re: Help

Jack at this point I recommend double checking all your information in dreamweaver, make sure ALL your information is correct - like your username. Your username for FTP is different then your Bravenet username you use to login.

Re: Help

Courtnie
I'm sure it has to be something simple.
What do you mean my username is different from my FTP username?

Re: Help

it means just as she said.

your ftp login username is different from your username login here with your bravenet account

so login to bravenet
click the ftp tab and make sure you get all the CORRECT ftp information there

so for example if your login with your bravenet account is sillyfred and your password is xxxxx then your ftp login is not going to be sillyfred

so get your ftp settings and punch them in with your dreamweaver ftp accouont area and then you should be able to upload your pages.
