a couple of things here that could be your problem

1. Are you mixing editors like editing in the visual/text editor THEN go hit the publish button in the wizard editor

well if you are doing that DON'T

you will lose all the work you did in the visual editor if you edited in there

the publish button in the wizard editor is STRICTLY for using if you are using the wizard to edit your pages

2. If not seeing updates on your page could be YOUR BROWSER so clean out your temporary internet files folder and hit ctrl f5 a few times/refresh your page till the updated version of your site or page you just edited appears
