I've been getting the same error. I use DW2004. But since 'Doug' at Bravenet support cannot figure out the problem, I finally did. DO NOT add 'host directory' info. Even though it says to, don't. I did that, and POOF! In like Flynn! I have other domains here and tried it with the others and I got into each specific domain root folder like I should've. They also say to make sure you're in 'passive' mode when trying, but that doesn't matter either.

If your support people are out of India, then they need some more lessons. If they're in the USA...I'd like an application please.
