Your index.html isn't supposed to be in "some directory". It is supposed to be in the root directory. And it isn't.

as said your site is supposed to be in your root directory

so there is a big difference if your site

hvgs.bravehost.com/index.html


and hvgs.bravehost.com/index_files/index.html or with whatever folder your homepage is in


so upload your index.html page to your ROOT FOLDER

THE ADVERTS THAT BRAVEHOST SUPPLY ARE IN THE WAY OF THE TEXT ON ALL THE PAGES. IS THERE AY WAY THEY CAN BE MOVED FURTHER DOWN THE PAGE?

NO you CAN'T MOVE THEM

you have to redo your page to work around the banners.

or look at a host elsewhere where you can suppress the banners or don't have banners to deal with


Some use freewebs.com and don't have to deal with banners with free site there


unless you plan to upgrade your hosting here at bravenet then the banners will be gone


You had a free 10 day grace period with no banners so you could see what things would be like if you upgraded your service

not readjust your page to work around it or as said look at some other hosts
