Just wondering if anyone could have a look at my site and give me a bit of honest feedback on how to improve it. I feel like it needs a bit extra, so anyone with any suggestions, could they let me know.
For starters resize the graphics. The bottom image on your page is over 100k and is would look fine if it was only 10. The top image is over 80k and should probably be around 25 or 30. Oversized images waste bandwidth and make the site very slow to download for dial up users (that is still over 40 percent of UK visitors to your site).
The same comments apply to the "return trip" photos on your Canewdon page. Use a photo editing program to create optimised copies of your photos.
The "today in history" on your Canewdon page adds nothing except download time and the clutter on the right and bottom of your home page detracts from the content.
If you want to be taken seriously I recommend loosing all the supermarket halloween advert images of bats and skulls.
