ftp error occured
-cannot make connection to host. The remote host cannot be found.

This is my friends site that I am working on from my computer not sure if that makes a difference?

remote server: FTP
FTP address: ftp.janedoe.com
folder: janedoe.com/
used an ftp login eg. 1234567-janedoe
used ftp password eg. janedoe

Tried with and without ftp login of hers and a new login of mine(1234567-janedoe)
