Why is my sub domain not being published?

Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I am trying to publish one of my subdomains, and when I preview it, it looks fine... but when I publish it the page is blank. I used a different theme for this subdomain, than for my other website that I am workin on. Is that why it will not show?
