publishing template gaaah!
okay so im having huge publishing problems. I upload the files- the index.html thingy, also the images. then i go onto file manager and there they both are seperate on my list of files. after editing all i want in the visual editor i look for a publishing button- there isnt one. so i read its automatic. i look at the website and all i get is a under maintenance thing. Now i also read your images have to go into the root file im assuming thats the index one- i have no idea. anyways even if something is in the wrong place its not like u can scroll it to another folder anyway. so im totally lost, and a step by step answer would be greatly no hugely appreciated! like literally i upload the index.html and the images as it says, i edit it in visual editor...THEN WHAT? if someone can help me from here it would be gr8. thanks.

OK, you are telling us that you UPLOADED your index.html file. That means you did some perfectly good editing on your PC then made changes on-line. Making changes in two different places is just making life difficult for yourself. You are seeing old versions because you set up your browser to save bandwidth by checking your Temporary Internet Files folder for the pages before going to the web. |

okay actually whether im an idiot remains to be seen, i thought u had it but u didnt- infact i now think u misunderstood me. let me explain better- I chose to build my website with the templates bravenet provides. i favourite it- choose it. U then select toe upload button or download button, it uploads the html/images of the template onto my file manager. then i select manage file- and i use the visual/text editor provided to edit the look of the layout and content. NOW- where do i go from here??? its not that my comp saved the previous appearance of any page- ive checked that. ALl i did was do as bravehost said- got the template. now why isnt it on my website when i try look? i even tried to look on the website before id edited content- still nothing. |
