Pres Bush signed the Conscience Protection Law on December 8, 2004.The Clause known as the Hyde-Weldon Amendment to the Federal Health and Human Services Appropriation Bill for fiscal year 2005, is intended to prevent discrimination against prolife nurses, doctors,hospitals and insurance plans. The words of the Amendment to the Bill, are : 1) None of the funds made available in this Act, may be made available to a federal agency, or program or to a State, or local government if such agency, program of government subjects any institutional or individual health care entity to discrimination on the basis that the health care entity does not provide, pay for, provide coverage for, or refer for abortions. 2) In this subsection, the term "health care entity" includes an individual physician or other health care professional, or hospital, or provider sponsored organization, or health maintenance organization, a health insurance plan or any other kind of health care facility, organization or plan." This part is the good news.
The bad news is the State of California and their Jezebels Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and the Planned Parenthood crew think that the US Congress has a nerve creating law,and are trying to challenge the right of Congress to write law with the help of their AG Bill Lockyer. He, on behalf of Planned Parenthood that organization from hell, believes all nurses and MD's should be forced to kill on demand! So they are filing a lawsuit to challenge the authority of Congress to create law. Well, I wonder if the nation is going to let California or Planned Parenthood run the nation.
