Hungerford 2 Pegasus 0

After the match, I asked one of the Hungerford faithful what he thought of the game. "Owww!" he said. For those of you who dont, unfortunately, share my omniscient grasp of football shorthans that translates "Oh Well We Won!"And that about sums it up.We had a candidate for miss of the season; Conners with a drop dead first touch then metamorphised from golden boot into 'give him the boot' by blasting the ball over a virtually empty net from no more that eight yards. We had a candidate for goal of the season from Mark McMeeking, a volley from some yards outside the penalty area that would have had any striker in the premier league strutting. 1-0 Hungerford, ht. In the second half we had more crossings than P&O Ferries run all season across the Channel. All ports were closed.Perhaps the Hungerford front men could consider that the near post has more to offer than just a handy place to hitch a horse. Mid way through the second half Conners made amends with a strike many times more difficult than the one hed hit into the grounds of Windsor Castle. We had 3 points. But then so , it transpired, had the other two. Onwards, and hopefully, upwards.
