These d/g's are killing us, is there any way of getting it done without the mess that occurs when removing the membrane? On the newer models-thanx

hmm like what year? cause i always cut the membrane then sealed it back together and put orange tape over it so that it did not stick to the door pannel

Re: Honda/Acura doorglass slime

Membrane?

Are you talking about the road noise paper/plastic buffer on the inside of the door?

If you are I agree...that tan slime crap sucks hard. Especially when it gets broken glass in it and starts stabbing you. Ouch. :(

I have found the best way is to find a clean area of the "slime" and pull it loose. Then take a razor blade and slowly pull the plastic to expose the "slime" as you cut it with the razor. This leaves "slime" on the plastic and on the door so re-installing is easy.

not yet yo, but when it gets on your vacuum hoses etc. and follows you around for days, stains fabric and clothes, someday you will post me back.
I gotta admit I,m leaning in Larrys direction.

Re: Honda/Acura doorglass slime

cut off the plastic a few inch perimeter below the slime and leave it alone.

Re: Honda/Acura doorglass slime

Not a bad idea and maybe use butyl or somthin to reattach it below the original slime
