True story about one that didn't get away
We are open half days on Sat. Today, a guy came in to meet his daughter who was coming in with a broken windshield. She ran a little late and he sat in our waiting area for about 10 minutes.
She got there, we got on the phone and began the insurance dance. Then she went over to talk to her Dad for a minute and I heard her tell him that "they want me to use somebody else."
All of a sudden, Dad picks up the IGA comic book (I'd forgotten I put it over there after I got back last week) and tells her "no, we are staying here, I just read about this."
I couldn't believe it. That stinkin' comic book saved the job.

Re: True story about one that didn't get away
Funny thing. Just the other day I picked up an AGRSS pamphlet from the pile sitting in our cust waiting area. Started reading it and about 1/2 way thru, realized that the likelihood of a customer reading this entire thing all the way thru AND understanding it all was very slim. Very 'long winded' information.
After all the giggles and arms being thrown in the air in disgust over this comic book, maybe everyone should open their minds and look at it for what it is worth.

Re: True story about one that didn't get away
Hey Syd, What is it worth?
.
For Greader, maybe a repeat customer, a new account, or, at the very least one fish in the boat, and an educated consumer (American).
.
It certainly IS a tangible, first edition, grassroots, effort to preserve small business.
.
Some with larger, more established concerns may have less use for something like this, but unless there is a philosophical reason why something like this should not be disseminated, it can't hurt.
.
While there are still more INDEPENDENT business owners and INDEPENDENT Insurance Agents than those under the employ of the "Machine", this should be something that can slow the clock down, so that more American business owners can get a grasp of the threat these "BIGNESSES" pose to the future of their neighborhoods.
.
Then again if there is somethings I overlooked and there must be, PLEASE add it, this could be a very useful thread.
.
In closing , if there is no objection , I will do my best to get this message , however long-winded it may be , out to America.

Re: True story about one that didn't get away
LISTEN!, Ordered these "comic books",(from the IGA), had them in 4 days. LAST CALL for any reason these should not be distributed. We know it may help out other INDIES, but we are willing to accept that . CHECK IT OUT, please respond with any and all comments. We are trying to do the right thing here ! CONFIRM !
