Betting On Belron

I Lost!!

I really thought it would only take until last Monday for Ms Cain to issue a Belron approved statement that "re-stated" or "put into corporate context" Mr Feeney's statement about not supporting AGRSS. I guess the damage control conferences ran overtime for a few days longer until a seemingly plausible politically correct statement could be constructed. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was this excuse.

I noted that she tried to diminish AGRSS to Belron's SafeTech. It's a technique that attorneys use to devalue witnesses. Keep whistling past the graveyard,Jenny

Amusing also to note that Wow!! SAfelite has a drug testing policy and AGRSS does not. Let's line up their employees tommorrow and do a urine test. Bet that they meet or exceed the national average for failure. One wonders how cranky they could found to be.

Last but not least has there been any medical reports on Mr Feeney that have been published? I just wanted to know if either the oral surgery to remove his foot was successful or did that delay the prescribed lobotomy?

Re: Betting On Belron

I find it fascinating that AGRSS is now going to be "belittled" by Belron for not also having drug testing and background checks in it's standard?

That's just too funny.

So now, an organization that has no authority to enforce what is established and admittedly a public and voluntary standard is chastised for not including the "people" installing as well as the installation methods?

Wow.........

Also, I believe in another string it was mentioned that Belron has/would claim to "exceed" AGRSS.

What's interesting to me is why, with all this spin, they would still want to be on the AGRSS board? I can think of only one reason, and that's to be sure they either don't pass something Belron can't live with, or be forewarned of it as early as possible?

Frankly, I don't see the point of the press release.

Re: Betting On Belron

This is a flaw in the AGRSS plan unfortunatley. Why does AGRSS include people like DT and Belron on the council if they aren't serious about AGRSS?

This is one of my main problems with joining AGRSS. I don't like that the companies who are the worst offenders in the industry have a majority presence on the board of AGRSS.

DT is a registered company. Bel/safe is not on a member of the Standards Committee, although anyone can join. It's an ANSI committee.

Re: Betting On Belron

Safelite does drug testing on new hires and if they think you are stoned you might get another test done. I would like to see documentation that they do it randomly. Any stoner can stop using long enough to pass the test, get a job there and smoke the hooch on the way home driving their vans or have a "bowl" for breakfast before picking up their glass work. It is too expensive to do it the right way and it is too expensive to pass AGRSS audits for SGC. They make it sound like all the church alter boys work for safelite and just say no to drugs or booze. Then they need to atch out for the priests....in charge.
