atech May 6, 08 - 9:10 AM	04 jaguar x-type We have a jag coming in tomorrow- here's the question... elmo shows it to be a FW2284 (no sensor) none of my suppliers have it... Elmo shows interchanges to a Fw2665 (with a sensor). What the? everything looks right but the round spot for the sensor- not 100% if the mirror brackets are the same?!?!?!? HELP!!!! anyone know if this will work? thanks!
ttech May 6th, 2008 - 11:05 AM	Re: 04 jaguar x-type fw2665 calls for rain sensor and electrochromic mirror. so when a car has no rain sensor but does have the electrochromic mirror you can do one of two things. some cars will have a plug where the r/s should be. if not you can buy these at the dealership. if it does not have the plug just paint the clear area( where r/s goes) with black primer. no problem. nothing major. hope this helps
j May 6th, 2008 - 1:29 PM	Re: 04 jaguar x-type On this type car, the only way to get the right glass most of the time is order by vin no. Maybe this is what the manufacturers are wanting. We've had this several time on BMW and Mercedes.
xs May 6th, 2008 - 2:15 PM	Re: 04 jaguar x-type If you call the Jaguar dealer with the Vinn# they still cant help you...The Vinn # will not breakdown the options for the car..you need the original option list that came with car...there is like 8 different w\s for this car...ttech is correct about the black rain sensor kit...we see plenty of mercedes with a rain sensor on w\s but sensor box hooked up or a harness for the older Ml320....
atech May 6th, 2008 - 5:53 PM	Re: 04 jaguar x-type thanks- dealer said the one withthe rs does interchange the other, and to plug the rs spot... hoping primer will work- xs- u r right as usual about the dealer not knowing for sure... vin broke it down to 3 w/s possibilities.
