Mr Feeney dispels myths

Was anyone in the room when Mr. Feeney was "dispeling myths" about Safelite Solutions (today's Glassbytes)? Would love to hear more. Bet it was a tough crowd.

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

Yeah, I was there. The man tried to say they do not steer jobs and that they pay 98% of their invoices in 12 days. A guy then asked the audience who present has ever gotten paid in 12 days. No one raised their hand.

When asked about scripts, he said that the insurance companies controlled them. He also said, as the article stated, that they do not compete with us…they compete with other TPA’s.

The kicker was that he said the insurance companies have been over paying for glass services for years. He had the b*lls to say that in that room!

Plus, he basically said that they are not going to support AGRSS, because they do not want to be audited when that part of the program kicks in next year.

I’m concerned as to why glassbytes did not mention those quotes. Something is screwy.

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

the article made this liar look like a saint. they can earn their insurance business off of service, they can only get it based on price. I think they paid the guy what to write. Not joing AGRSS...wow what an answer... too bad the article did not have room for that extra few sentences.

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

it seemed to me his words were kinda "talking down to his audience." you can sugar coat dog dunk and call it chocolate pudding but underneath you still know what it is no matter how someone presents it!

We, too, were present for the discussion. The usual spin was provided which was adequately countered by the audience members.

The only 'news' was that an Officer of the leading AGRR company in country informing the insurance industry that they have something to fear by third party AGRSS validation. The double-speak about supporting AGRSS but not supporting third party validation will not get very far...

What have you got to hide? Are you afraid of getting caught ripping off the insurance companies?

Not scared Mary. Audit me anytime. Obviously there are a lot of Safelite bashers here, and thats OK. You are correct that I dont know how every Safelite is run, but I do know all stores are governed by very strict guidlines. Not sure how Mr. Hackur is getting away with this practice (if he really is or maybe just stirring up people with his controversial self).
You mentioned respect? Thats something I rarely see on this forum

Bababooey and Tex must be low level managers because the guys higher up don't seem to feel the same way.

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

I know some really good techs at Safelite but there were not "born Safelite" babies. They worked for independents for years prior to buyouts that got them to Safelite and they are one of the few who have too much vacation and fear invested in to trying to leave. I also know many techs "born" into Sfelite and they SUCK!! I have seen hundreds of crap jobs.

We all like to bash them over any other company large or samll that does crap work too because for one, Safelite "steals" more work and causes more problems in the industry for us all...plain and simple. Remember, they are the BULL that CRAPS the most!!

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

Ha! Did someone say something he should not have? No dinner for Mr. Feeney tonight.

Belron US spokesperson Jenny Cain advised glassBYTEs.com™/AGRR magazine today that company officials believe that its own training and certification program, "SafeTech, takes the [AGRSS] Standard as adopted to a higher level." Cain made this statement in response to a comment made last week at the Independent Glass Association's (IGA) annual conference by Belron US executive vice president Tom Feeney, who told attendees the company doesn't intend to seek AGRSS registration as the company doesn't support a third-party validation program.

Re: Mr Feeney dispels myths

Oh! It gets better...

"We are interested in becoming more involved on the AGRSS [Council] and hope to have someone from our senior leadership team [elected] to the board. This would allow us to work more closely in the future."

Meaning, we need to be on the board so we can take over and kill AGRSS. I hope IGA and NGA have people on the board who will not let Belron get a seat at the table. Especially now since thay have said AGRSS ain't good enough.

You know AGRSS does not have drug testing. DUH!
