No DOT #

I did a windshield yesterday and the one that I removed didn't have a DOT # or any makings on it anyone ever see this before it's a first for me.

Saw a 1099 just the other day without one. That was the first one for me.

Ive seen these when a cheap overseas wholesaler came by and tried to sell us pallets of that crap...DW1327 gbn no moldings or mirror brackets and the black frit was missing..LOL.........He was selling for cheeeeap...xxxx dollars....lol.........

I've ran into afew of these at some of my fleet accounts. Usually a major hack job behind the glass to go along with it. Always fun.

Cheap Glass,cheap urethane,cheap installers,equals cheap job......but not always at a cheap price.........lol......................

I could be wrong but...

A windshield with no DOT number ain't legal !!

The requirements are that every piece of glass must be labeled with the manufacturer's number

You are correct Ira.every piece of glass sold in USA must have a dot#etched into glass to identify it....But we are talking boot leg here...lol.......
