NAGS...can't fix stupid!
How can NAGS justify a price decrease on the top 1500 parts? Has anyone studied the labor hour time...did that go down also??? Will it get better or worse (if possible)with the merger??

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
I bet they can justify it because distributors continue to discount either by case or single parts, mostly likely due to the flood of Chinese glass and the need for volume sales.
Remember the ONLY companies using NAGS are the TPA's and insurers. Why would anyone be using NAGS to quote private customers??
Don't get me started on labor. You dummies who brag about install times are just validating to those who allow times and rates be dictated to us and they continue to fall.
It's a broken system but like a flat tire there are those who continue to drive on it because they think they are getting somewhere

Gas goes up price of food goes up insurance jobs pay less and NAGS goes and sets price decrease. Makes total sence to NOT. Someone need to slap the holy living @#$% out of them.

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
The road goes both ways; if you continue to use NAGS (validating them as part of your business), NAGS will continue to play a role in the industry.
I know I'm not the only one who has quit using NAGS, but it's going to take more than a hanful of us to make any measurable difference.
Check your state laws... I bet there is nothing stopping you from calculating your autoglass parts like any other retail good on the market.

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
I really like Opus' post.
Here's another "I've said this before....":
I will pay Nags 50% of what I am paying them now, for the use of the numbers, but LESS the pricing.
With thousands of net priced parts...no distributors using Nags, what's the point of the Nags pricing?
And oh....I don't need the labor either. We bill actual.
How about it, Bud?

Im gonna pick with that labor time. Now we both know how much actual times it takes to replace certain w\s....Now the book gives me XXXX amount of time to do it.Now just If we do it in certain amount of time.Im still entittled to that amount on the books. It to my advantage that I did it quicker then book allows because of my expertise and experience...
Ex..take your car to dealer and gets some work done..You get charged XXXX on labor defined and sorted by a national reconized labor time guide...Mechanic does it in less time..Well guess what you still get charged what you was quoted...Why because the mechanic was skilled and talented...
Ex....most freeway projects in a heavily traveled conjested area that needs major work done...If that projects is done early, there is even a bonus to be paid out to all..if there late they get penalized....

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
I agree with Mark1. NAGS is great for the numbering system...I'm not quite sure how we'd order parts without it. But the pricing is pointless...the only time I pay one lick of attention to the NAGS price is when I'm billing an insurance company.

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
XS, my complaint about the labor time seems to be not what it says it takes to do but the amount per hour TPA's offer us to do the job. I've seen 35.00 and why would I want to install a windshield for $72.00?

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
It is not the insurance companies sending those faxes, "IT IS SAFELITE"!!! Stay with the networks, get the free work,it's great for business!!!! They make money on you and then ruin your cash markets by lowballing...

Re: NAGS...can't fix stupid!
wait a minute lets say the nags point moved 1% down on an average windshield if a nags hour rate move up 1.**** how can you say your making less. And as far as LYNX getting rich i would dis-agree with that statement. They are not a reseller of the part like some networks do...
