Message:   Hi. If any of you cat-lovers out there are in the Eastern CT area, please be on the lookout for my beloved indoor cat, Maya, who somehow got out of our new house 4 days after we moved. Yes, I have gone back to the old neighborhood several times. I've given my old neighbors a photo of her. My old next-door neighbors have agreed to keep a lookout for Maya.

Maya has been with me since she was 4 weeks old, when a woman found her wandering the streets. Therefore, she lacks typical cat instincts like hunting that her feline Mom could have taught her. She's 5 now, and has been indoor-only her whole life. She disappeared on June 6th. Nobody saw her leave. Nobody knows how she got out. No, she is nowhere in the house.

It's been 9 days now. I've posted "lost" ads all over the internet and in the newspapers. I've put up color-photo "lost" flyers (w/ reward) around my town and in my neighbors' mailboxes. I've called friends and all animal shelters/vets/rescues/AC officers in my area and beyond. Nobody has seen her.

I'm worried that she was attacked by a coyote, as my area is very wooded behind my house. I also live on a main road, so I fear that she may have been hit. She doesn't like loud noises, so I'm hopeful she stayed away from the road.

I will give a description of her, and if anyone has ANY info, I would be forever grateful. We are offering a reward for info leading to her return. Please call, even if you think the cat you've seen may not be her.

Maya is an orange tiger-striped, shorthaired spayed female cat. She is medium build, weighing about 10 lbs. She is all orange, except for her cute white cheeks. Her eyes/eyelashes are also orange. She doesn't have a collar. She is wary of strangers. She is very feminine looking. She is not very vocal unless she is in real need of communicating.

We lost her from our house in Colchester, CT, a few miles away from the E. Hampton line. She is badly missed. We are devastated. Anyone who can offer any support, info, or advice is welcome to email me at: heidimsw@yahoo.com

Also, if you have SEEN her, please call me, night or day, at #(860) 267-9201. Thanks!!!!
