New to timeshares and need help

Well this past weekend, my wife, daughter and I went to Myrtle Beach,SC. While we were there we went to a 90min timeshare presentation with Bluegreen. The pitch sounded pretty good, and the ability to go to different locations, at different times for pts. I knew I wasnt goin to buy one right there but I did buy a 9000 pt sampler for $900. I have a yr to use them. So anyway when I get back I start looking online about timeshare. I see some pretty good deals but I want to get the most for my money. Right now we vaction about twice a yr. My daughter is 2 so we go to the beach or mountains with here and the wifey and I take a romantic vaction alone(usaully carribean). So to all you timeshare sauve members what is the best timeshare resort, that give most most locations, most points. Also what is RCI? And do they own resorts or just manage exchanges? Everyones input great appreciated

A timeshare pitch always sounds good when it comes from a sales man.
RCI is just an exchange company, how ever they do sell some points that you can use in their system by trading them for vacation weeks.
Don’t buy a timeshare for the exchanges, they are very hard to get and most of the time you will end up disappointed and frustrated. In your case what I would recommend is to purchase a week in a place that you really love and that you could visit with no problems in case you don’t get the exchange you want.
You will get a lot of “bonus” weeks that you can purchase at low prices often times as cheap as your maintenance fee and those are not exchanges so you don’t pay an exchange fee, these weeks are available worldwide.
What ever you do DON’T buy from the developer.
The most I would pay is $2000 for a really good timeshare.
