Where Were You? 80's DVDs
The 'Where Were You?' 80's DVD's have just been released (unfortunately not one for every year). There are 3 Volumes covering the 80's. To CJ & The Guru who feature on the rage guestbook page, the video clip for 'Everywhere I Go'- QED is finally here! It's on Volume 2. There are some other gems on the tracklisting on all the volumes. So do yourself the old... 123 and check 'em out. |

QED at last. I bought all 3 volumes just as thanks to the people who finally allowed me to get access to the QED video. A few interesting themes coming up on Rage with synth pop, NZ and sports in the next month. This is whetting my appetite for retro January. |

Hi everyone! Picked up "Where Were You?" Vol.2 today and it's fantastic.Great to finally have the clips for "Everywhere I Go" and "House Of Cards"(did I see Dugald the "RockWiz" roadie in there somewhere?). Other personal faves were: "Rise"-Public Image Limited "Don't Forget Me(When I'm Gone)"-Glass Tiger(with a touch of Bryan Adams on backin' vocals) "C'est La Vie"-Robbie Nevil Oh,and for those who do have this DVD,do you think Carol Decker, the lady out front of T'Pau, looks like Howard Jones in drag in the "Heart And Soul" clip? After today's beauty of a find, wouldn't mind gettin' Vol.1-especially for Sheena Easton(not seen "Strut" in decades-"Strut" and "Modern Girl" were her best hits in my books),The Little Heroes(sure,"One Perfect Day" still gets radio airplay, but I've not seen the clip in some years),The Waterboys and The Power Station. The only clip on Vol.3 I'm chasin' is KC And The Sunshine Band's "Please Don't Go". Actually,I've seen 2 clips for "Please Don't Go".Max has shown one of the band "live",but the one I'm after's got the band doin' the song in a disco. If someone could let me know which clip appears on Vol.3,that'd be appreciated Cheers! |

Hi everyone! As promised, picked up Vol.1 in the "Where Were You?" DVD's and after watchin' it,got a couple of questions- 1)Why was the scene in "Love Is A Battlefield" where Pat Benatar enters the brothel(well,I'm guessin' its a brothel)censored when it was shown on "Countdown"? and 2)Was that really Bruce Hornsby playin' keyboards in the clip for "Strut"? Also forgot "Strut" was written by Charlie Dore, famous for "Pilot Of The Airwaves" but what I DO know is how stunnin' does Sheena Easton look in that clip! P.S.'Spose another question I could ask is why oh why did Air Supply choose to make a career out of such sickly and syrupy love songs? Don't get me wrong-I don't mind the odd ballad but Air Supply really took the mick in that department Oh yeah-look closely in "One Perfect Day" at when Roger Hart's writin' on the pad. It starts with "Dear Carol"-anyone wonderin' who "Carol" is,its Carol Hitchcock of "Get Ready" fame |

No idea why they censored the 'Love Is A Battlefield' clip on Countdown. I still don't know why they censored the clip for 'Australiana', surely talking about packing bill a bong isn't that bad, and showing a joint etc. Thanks to rage for showing the full version during the Presets special (or should I say thankyou Presets). I bought 'Australiana' on CD single back in 2003, to celebrate its 20 years. It also includes the uncensored clip. Yeah, Sheena Easton is a hottie esp. back in '91 when she had the comeback hit 'What Comes Naturally'. Re Carol Decker from T'Pau looking like Howard Jones in drag. nah, I don't think so. But to this day, it's criminal that their single 'China In Your Hand' didn't chart here, it was a No.1 single in the UK in late '87. |
