Something to Contemplate?

Hi Tommy,
Good to see you've been working more deeply with the CH stuff and that you've been talking to Peter about your queries. As we work with Cheng Hsin the one thing that we realise needs to take place in order for us to become skilful is that we need to - practice, practice, practice!!

It's nice to study the books etc, but the real changes are applied through persistant training nad application of the principles whenever we become conscious of our bodies and our "event" so to speak.

A pitfall that traps a lot of us (myself included) is that we think we can "intellectualise" the principles, that if we run the stuff around in our heads and think it through, we'll get it. Obviously, we need to do some contemplation and analysis, but this should be based on our ACTUAL EXPERIENCE not on a concept or idea that we have. If we base our analysis on our experiences while training then we are working with something more concrete. Remember that the concept or idea are not the same as the actual experience and they will always be different (as anyone who's been to a Cheng Hsin camp or workshop will be able to appreciate). We need to move then, out of the fantasy and into reality an dmore importantly we need to make the distinction between the two. This is where the Cheng Hsin ontology work is invaluable

Have Fun!
Mike
