Dancing and Internal arts

I am interested in your perspectives on the relationship between dancing and internal or external martial arts...

Bruce Lee was cha-cha champion of hong kong, Peter Ralston is reputed to have considered making Argentinian Tango a part of Cheng Hsin, Bagua Zhang has its stepping, Taiji and Daoyin exercise can be done to music, Wushu is perhaps a step away from acrobatic dance...

And many forms of dancing can be viewed from the perspective of a relationship between two bodies, one leading, another following, outreaching each other etc.

but when does a dance become an art? or a training tool, or internal? Are their internal and external dances? Are some internal martial arts simply a collection of dance moves?

There seem to be no easy answers and no hard edges, yet for many of us we are this and not that, we do one thing and not another.

Re: Dancing and Internal arts

I really don't have a perspective on dancing and the internal/external arts.

The two "arts" have a completely different focus aside from harmony of movement. Although Capoeira may be different I don't have enough knowledge of dancing to comment
